4th Gen steering rack, anyone help me with this?

Ok, so looking on CamaroV6.com, it tells me that a V6 camaro has a 16.9:1 steering ratio ( except the Y87 package, that came wiht a V8 ratio they said), as to the V8 has a 14.1:1 ratio. Can anyone confirm this is correct, cause Im looking at auto parts stores to see if there was a different product number, but no, both the V6 and V8 are the same numbers. if thats the case, they've been selling the wrong rack and pinions to V8 customers.
