Flemington GTO owner here, anyone know of any credible performance shops in NJ I could get headers and a cam possibly installed. Maybe some dyno tune as well.
Thanks All !!!

oh i recommend on not using cartek, as far as tuning at least, as far as installing parts id say diy it should be easy ****, not sure how many co's make headers right yet for them though...but any ls1 cam would work just as well, I'd recommend a tr224 or even my old cam 231/237 if you want a big bad cam that makes alot of peak power. Oh and I do tune now fwiw.

my ears are still ringing........
I figure I may start looking into some mods now that the ls2 is coming. Headers always made me happy. I want to keep the drivability the way it is so I was thinking maybe an ls6 heads and cam and headers, that combo should keep the same drivability as now but with @ 375rwhp.
I ran stock @ etown the other day only got one run in but 13.8 @102.2mph

i wouldnt bother with ls6 heads if i were you...the cam maybe...you'll probably pick up 20-30 hp along with a good tune with just the cam...the heads stock for stock only flow slightly better then the ls1's. Personally I'd say go with a tr224 on a 114lsa or if you want no lope at all drop it on a 116 lsa and it'll idle near stock...see ya shouldve waited a year and you wouldve been rewarded with an extra 50hp for little extra money and you wouldnt be worrying about finding a shop right yet in all honesty if your considering a tune though let me know I'll make sure it gets done right.

If I only had tommorow's newspaper. We'll see... I have two whopper payments right now 03 Avalanche and the GTO. I may consolidate into an 05 GTO. With a house and a Baby coming soon two payments don't jive. Drinking beers always makes me want to MOD. ( hiccup ) I bet by tommorow I'll want it quiet. (shhhhhhhhh) with no mods.

I know that Foff has already said that he doesnt recommend cartek, but ive had no bad experiances, and I know one GTO owner who uses them has gone 12.70.

either one of these shops would be a good call. i've yet to hear any horror stories about them.
a coupla members have the equiment and are gaining more experience everyday doing the type of tuning those shops do. they lack the dyno, but once they get done with the tune go take it for a spin (butt dyno!)
all else fails, get one of these guys to do the tune, then wait for a dyno day at one of the shops above. it works out cheaper for you and you get the added bonus of specialist on site (don't the manufacturers send some boys out, usually?)

IIRC, SLP's install shop is closed for an undetermined amount of time.

90% of the speed shops around here have died. Places like Summitt and Jegs killed them. After Performance Centers of America went belly up in eatontown, we have relied on Summitt, Jegs, and Ebay
