May 2015 Meet - 5/30 Chatterbox Inn, Augusta, NJ
When: Saturday 5/30/14 (rain date Sat 6/6)
Time: 3pm
Where: Chatterbox Drive In
1 State Highway 15
Augusta, NJ 07822
Tel: 973-300-2300
Map
Last year the manager said we will park in the same in the "modern muscle" area we have parked the last few years. He said there is a new fence in that lot, make sure all cars are either backed in reasonably close to the fence or close to the exit road so there is plenty of room for cars / spectators down the center isle. If this yer is different we will let you know
For anyone that posts up saying 'maybe', please try to update your status a few days before the meet if possible.

I'll be in as usual. Maybe this time, me, Larry, and Nick will just go get lost on the way up?

Can I borrow the 78 or 74 for the day then? I promise I'll be good...
If you are indeed under prior arranged obligations, and people want to cruise up we'll just change the meet location.

bummer I always enjoy this event but I have to work that day all day. However, if for some reason it does rain-out, I'll be able to make it the following weekend to the rain date. Enjoy guys, nice roads up that way for cruising around before or after the event

Nah, if I ever drive either of those two, it would be the 74, and even then; doesn't it have dealer plates, so you'd probably need to be in the car too? I couldn't resist the question though. hahaha.

Threw up a cruise thread in the North Jersey section. Anyone can come along though. I just gotta think of a place to meet up. Due to a possible low turnout based on this thread, I may just get together with Nick and a couple others and really get lost. Don't know who is going though.

unfortunately, I won't be able to make it. I'm going to the Flemington Car Show to finally see my Uncle's Vega. My cousin finished it after my Uncle Tuffer passed away.

you know what... now I'm debating on the idea of taking a vacation day at work. the chatterbox double-header meet we have done in the past is certainly worth it.
plus my younger cousin is on leave from the marines for just another 2 weeks and he is about 3 weeks away from buying his first car... a 1986 IROC with ultra low miles out in California where his next USMC base is nearby. He has been to a bunch of NJFBOA events and drag racing events with me, so I'll prob take a vacation day and us both can enjoy the event. I'll know for sure in a few days when I am able to get a better idea of the weather forecast for the day. Don't want to burn a vacation day and have the event(s) get rained out.

Pray he isn't buying it from the Lemon lot on Pendleton or Ocean Avenue in Oceanside!

Let me know if you do so, if you both want to have a lil fun later on if not on the way up, we can meet somewhere. There doesn't seem to be as many people this time round, so I may just rip up there on my own. But the option to get some cars together for a run is still there. Tell your cousin, I'm looking at selling the GTA, just want to do at least one more thing before it does officially go up. I've already run it past people who were interested before, including 88 WS-6 whom I bought it from.

I for one listen to Chevy when they say "find new roads". I'm in Edison but some of my favorite driving is up north. There's a stretch between 78 and 46 Hackettstown, catch it right and enjoy the twisties. Oldwick Rd, Schooleys Mtn Rd. 46 out to Hot Dog Johnnys for dogs and birch beer. Shoot up 519 to 80, down 517 to Hackettstown. Might be my morning this Saturday.

Been there, done that. There are some you've missed. But yeah, I wouldn't mind meeting up for a spin on the way up, or if you so wish, we can get lost further north afterwards. Past few years those of us who cruised up to the Chatterbox meet, met in Hackettstown. I'd be down for doing it again as a location. I'm just unsure if it will happen due to number of people going. Getting lost afterwards is one thing since we will all be there. If there is interest I'll say meet in Hackettstown. We'll get up there around 3-3:30 depending on route chosen. If it is a small group, I may change it up on the fly.
