Anyone know of good lawyers in Edison?
I need a lawyer recommendation for a civil suit against a NJ dealership who has not given me a title after paying in cash. I have spoken to the DMV a few times and have filed paperwork numerous times with them and it seems like this is the next logical step to take. Has anyone ever dealt with something like this? Is there a special lawyer I should use?
Thanks for any advice.

How long has it been? I know DMV can take a long time to process dealership title issuing. Sometimes it goes to Trenton for processing

The dmv has no record of anything being filed through them and has been 4+ months. The last contact I had with the dmv clerk for the dealer was 12/21/13 and he wont return emails. I do not want to discuss how much I paid because it is not the issue.

Yeah I was going to say it should only take 6 weeks max. I'm not sure what type of lawyer you should look for but I would definitely report to NJ cconsumer affairs and the BBB

It seems my last complaint to the DMV worked as I received multiple responses from the dealership about the title. If anyone is familiar with this process of changing titles from owner to owner/state to state would I need to provide my social security number for this? It seems really shady to me that they need it and after all these problems I do not trust them at all.

Wouldn't the dealership already have it from when you originally bought the car. Seems legit that they require it for itentification

That was why it was needed. I paid for the dealer to handle the paperwork in August. I have the title, registration and plate. Luckily I didn't have to hire a lawyer and I will always call the DMV and do research on dealers before I buy a car from now on.
