ever come across the most annoying fanboy

got this friend talking to my friend talking crap about muscle cars, but all he thinks are good are volkswagens...

my friend anthony disses muscle cars every chance he gets but not to my face lol..and thinks his new volkswagen gti is the best thing out there. i dont rip on other peoples cars i would listen to their point first and then criticize from there...but hes just a fanboy for volkswagen and beleives they are the all around best car...power, gas milegage, everything. my friend gunther is also into muscle cars but doesnt own one..so he couldnt defend as well..

who else has ran into a fanboy like this

9:11pmAnthony: why does a car have to show off by being loud
imports use smaller engines that produce the same amount of power
and since the engines are smaller they get better gas mileage
rice beats muscle every time hot shot

9:18pmAnthony but all domestics are **** dude
why own a car from a company thats going down the ****ter
gti 1.8 t
thats all u dog

9:23pmGunther
but im honestly just not into vdub like u ryan and nick thats all
well dont say they are going to ****

9:23pmAnthony
you dont have to be
they are
look at the news

9:23pmGunther
some american cars are still fine

9:23pmAnthony
gm is ****ed
vw is top 3 in the world
gti has been top 10 cars for years

9:24pmGunther
media is corrupt man they never go into detail about stuff

9:24pmAnthony
dont gimme that bull ****
ok so gm is doing fine?

9:26pmAnthony
a company about to go bankrupt but indiviudal cars what???
ratings dont lie
compare a ford to a german car
even honda beats out american cars (doesnt specify in what aspect at all)

ford motors are rated to last up to 200k miles while vw motors are rated to last up to 300k
ratings dont lie

9:27pmGunther
im sorry anthony i like americann muscle
arrest me
i dont disrespect imports
like u do american muscle

who else ran into a fanboy like this and how do you deal with them without punching them in a face or offering to rip their ass in a race?

Do you like your car? that's all that matters.

Future advice: Don't argue with idiots, especially the once that say "always" or "all", they will drag you down to their level and beat you with their experience.

realistically there's no such thing as the best car since it has to do with personal preference. Thats one of the worst things about import people though, always trying to force their opinion on whats the best car on you.

Surely, only "import people" try to force their opinion on other people...

I am a VW mechanic. But as far as I am concerned they f'ing suck. Yea the diesel can do 200k plus easy and the same for the others if they are taken care of. However my 81 Camaro ran well over 350k. All these 4 cyl. dubs of equivelent year(to present) to my 01 SS run twice the rpms as my car at the same speeds. As far as same power...Gti 4cyl. turbo 200 HP. and I highly doubt at the wheel. And I dont get the why do you need a muscle car makin all that noise. Every gti i see has a huge ol' fart pipe. Plus the maintenence on VW is through the roof. 60k Timing belts are not cheap all the parts are ridiculous. Dont get me wrong now they can be quick and fun to drive but just not on the same level comparetively. Not without a ton of performance stuffs. I would own one if I could afford one but not at the sacrifice of my car. OOOHHH! I forgot German engineering.... SUX. Worse than my car as far as repairing stuffs. If you have a tran prob. forget rebuilding just save your pennies and buy a new one. We don't even tear into them VW doesnt like that. lol

and this

look up book times on fixing a vw then go out to your driver with a socket set and some open ended wrenches and fix your car.

then send him pics of you and the vdub butt tat.

then drink some bud and burn some rubber.

then post pics

honestly vdubs are slick cars but they are a funk show to work on. vdubs and audi's are cars i'd love to drive but to fix or maitain, i'd rather **** myself.

you could always ask him for hard evidence or just say, "Who you tryin to convince, you or me?" that should shut em up.

My buddy has a 2000 vw jetta 2.0, i just recently got done helping him along with a 1.8t swap.... Dear baby jesus was that a wiring mess, the poor soul other friend of ours had to cut and splice the wiring harness where it came into the car than a bunch of other random plugs because they use different connectors for the most stupid ****, (and yes it was the correct wiring harness vw just decided to be dicks about it and use different connectors)

plus vw seems to be hit or miss, i know 5 people that are vw freaks, 2 have all the problems in the world, 1 is trying to make his a race car, 1 was the kid who did the 1.8t swap (its still doesnt run surprise surprise), and the last kid just masturbates to it all day

then i proceed to get all this **** because for half the money and an eighth of the labor, i could have a car that could smoke them all on the 1/4 mile

msot all import owners like that are in denial. they jsut dont want to admit they spent a lot of money on a car that sucks, instead they try to make other people think its the best thing on earth, so that THEY go out and buy one so the person in denial doesnt feel so bad about dropping cash on a POS.

tell him my car gets 26mpg, and makes 380rwhp.

oh and send him this picture too:

Ask him to produce docs for STFU.
VW's post mid to low on the problems per vehicle rating, which is the grail of quality. Buick and Jag have tied for first, Lexus now has dropped to 2nd.
Like Adam said, VW's and Audi's are very nice cars. They feel solid, the interior design and materials are very nice and usually are at the top of thier field...but problems after problems, and fixing them usually isnt as easy as compared to a comperable American or Japanese car.
They also tend to be much more complicated. Where a car like the Civic or Cobalt might have just a strut with a lower control arm with one ball joint, the Jetta will have two lower control arms, both with ball joints. then there will be the sway bar link that is tied into the control arm with a ball joint. Then the tie rod itself...ugh, its a mess of parts that WILL need to be replaced.
Just..very complicated stuff.
