LT1 T56 Clutches

Wondering what all the LT1 guys are currently running...

I'm in the process of replacing my clutch for the third time. I've been having some nasty clutch chatter and noises in neutral the past month with my VALEO (did in 2014, less than 20k ago). I decided to replace it early based on similar symptoms with a ZOOM unit I did like 6 years ago before it had a TO bearing failure. From my research, all PPs and TO bearings come from the same manufacturer (china). Spec, mcleod etc just paint the PP and jack the price up from what I can see. So I wasn't surprised to find this ..

Inside lip is starting to tear, wouldn't have been long before I was without a clutch again. The bearing spins freely, but wobbles.

I have seen several threads talking about this but no solution. Several people bought the square top bearing (has a thicker flange) or have even welded the flange to that lip that is tearing thinking they fixed it, but the real problem is that lip which I cannot see anyway to improve it.

I went ahead and bought a McLeod disk off summit for street/strip and a brute force clutch kit from rockauto for $100 just for the PP and bearing since they're all the same. The bearing that came with this kit doesn't have the green made in China bearing dust cover, maybe a new manufacturer?

Anybody else have this issue before? Is there any known HD bearing for these cars? Hopefully I'll get more mileage before this one fails

Guess the answer to my question is a no? Oh well. Just an update, I finished the swap the other day. Lining up the trans was a PITA. Clutch is smooth again with some minor chatter that's supposed to go away after break in... TO bearing still sounds like a piece of **** in neutral, not much I could do though.

Seriously! I researched it, wouldn't work without major modifications, sigh. Glad I didn't dump 475 on a stage 1 then if it's doing the same stuff.
