96 trans am lt1/m6 tranny...
the clamshell that wraps around the torque arm bushing has a single bolt on the top that goes into the tranny.
does anyone have the type/size/threading for the bolt? mine rolled out somewhere along the way and is gone... and i cant find ANY data on it. checked autozone, haynes, bmr and even alldata. az has nothing on thier comp, haynes MENTIONS the clamshell but says nothing about it, bmr doesnt have any data on it other then it exists and has a bolt, and alldata only has a diagram for the auto tranny, and pictures it with TWO bolts (mine only has 1 on top) and doesnt list type, only torque.
at a loss... gm dealerships have a part number, but no data on the part... lists as a structural bolt, in a pack of 10 special order. id really rather pick it up local somewhere. ive tried m10 1.5/1.25 30mm and those dont thread in at all, but look almost right in size/shape.
heres the clamshell piece that wraps around the bushing... (left is top)
and heres the location from under the car...left is front... looking up drivers side of tranny right behing where tranny crossmember is. u pull the torque arm bushing down onto that ledge, the clamshell slides into the ledge and wraps up and around the bushing, and a single bolt is on the top, horizontal to the ground going towards the passenger side in direciton, into the transmission.
