Good find....$120 is cheap for them.
I bought my 4.10's slightly used for $100 (they are Motives).

It depends when you got the richmonds. they were really really good, then the guy that developed the metal used to make the gears left the company, so the metal sucked from then on. But recently they have been getting MUCH better!

i really think it is luck of the draw. i know people who have popped motives and richmonds to pieces. it is metal, there is no way to make every batch perfectly the same, jsut close. sometimes it falls on teh wrong side of tolerance and they break. sometimes the install isn't perfect and they break. sometimes there is a flaw in the rear case itself and they break.
later

Ive had nothing but luck with richmonds. Everyone i know uses them and has no problem whining and what not. I think its who installs them that makes the difference. I have richmonds in the Chevelle, and if they havent broken yet they are most likely not going to. <Knocks on Wood> Kid I know runs low 11's all day and his car hits harder than anything else ive been in, he's running Richmonds. Im pretty sure that if you have a person who installs them well, and actually knows what theyre doing they will work fine.

John take them to All-Star Transmission In Haeldon. The guys name is Chris, gears & transmissions is what they specialize in. Just look them up in the phone book. I cant find their buisness card right now.
Also I know your out of a job, but when its time, go there and have them isntall a shift kit & ask to match up a tourqe converter.

Well, one of you isn't right, because a 700R4 in OD with 2.73s will be around 2500 @ 90mph on 26" tires.....

Since Prestage.com is down.... I used this gear calculator:
http://www.dalesplace.com/htm/inform...calculator.htm
4th gear @ 90 mph with your tire size = 2,223 RPM
3rd gear @ 90 mph would be 3,175 RPM
Also....215/65/15 = 26.0" high
