Its been a while, so I thought I'd share a video of something I shot today on my GoPro and pieced together quickly to show off. I'm a Combat Photographer in the Marines and today I went with our Special Forces and conducted SPIE rigging with military working dogs. The huge bonus to my job is getting in on the action!
"The Special Patrol Insertion/Extraction (SPIE) system was developed as a means to rapidly insert and/or extract a reconnaissance patrol from an area that does not permit a helicopter to land. SPIE has application for rough terrain as well as water inserts/extracts. "
Basically, I'm just dangling from a long cable strung underneath a helicopter!
The quality is toned down quit a lot just to throw it up online quickly. I'll also throw up some edited photos tomorrow as well. Eventually I'll put a compilation together someday of all the cool stuff I've done.
semper fi devil dog, i've been SPIE rigging before, pretty kick ass, but you haven't lived until you've been on a tank in combat, or even just on the range ... ahhhh now you have me feeling all nostalgic

Although I never rolled with Tanks, I did spend plenty of time rolling in MRAPs across the AFG, probably will never be on par with Iraq, but it was definitely up there on the pucker scale rolling through the major cities of Helmand Province, Afghanistan!
