new 3rd gen

Just picked up an 82 Pacecar. All original, but needs some love. It has the original Cross-Fire 305 in it, the factory composite hood with vacuum driven ram air vents. It's a nice drivable project. The real selling point is it has 38k miles on it!!!

I'll put up some more pics tomorrow.

Oof, cross fire. Scott will love that. You going to keep the crossfire?

Debating. Being that it's a low mile car, I should. However, I have a 6.0 already and an LS swap would be the only thing I could do that wouldn't entirely destroy the value.

Cool beans. If you go fuel injection on that 6.0 I can build you a plug and play harness for GEN III/24x

Sweet. I'd think real hard about pulling apart an all original low mile pace car.

That picture looks like it was taken by a 1982 camera.

seriously. I've been debating it. The car has a lot of neat features that I've rarely seen. Factory "fiberglass" hood, functional scoops, clock center console, rear wiper blade and squirter. It has every single original pace car part, and i have the owners manual and original warrantee book.

pretty much! I figure at the end of the day its not THAT collectible. If anything a very clean LS swap would add value. However, I could clean it up, repaint and decal the car and sell it. Then use that money to build an LS car. 02 WS6

A clean version of that car with that low mileage is an $18,000+ car. Change the drivetrain and its an $8000 car. Fwiw

yeaaa. There's some wheel well rot, the engine was rebuilt by what I can only assume was a one armed blind child, all the EGR parts are gone, there's a dent in the rear quarter and the pan is torqued. I'll spend 10k putting it back to perfect original. Most likely though, ill just have the body work done, fix all the mechanical horsepoo and just enjoy it how it is. I have another project to go fast in.

You know - a set of CTW Motorsports wheels would look really nice on it!

But the wheels on it are original wheels, and ONLY pace cars had the red stripe in the Z28 wheel.

So you should hide them in a closet and roll around on some "junkers"

And you can swap wheels in about 15 minutes - easy to put the OEM 15" guys back on when you want to look original and not handle very well.

Excellent find!!!! Such a low mileage unmolested car you might want to keep it as it is.
If you can afford to stick away the value will only go up. Plus, like they say it's only original once.
Either way, nice find and great price.
