Camaro/Firebird vs. Mustang Shoot Out
Friday, August 18th
As a part of the East Coast Nats weekend we will be running a 3 class, drag racing shoot out against the mustang crowd.
General Rules and Requirements:
All vehicles must pass an NHRA tech and safety inspection and meet the requirements for the E.T. and trap speed they run.
Racing is limited to Camaro, Firebird, and Mustang bodied vehicles only.
Bracket Classes will run off of a .500 Sportsman Tree and Heads-up will run on a .400 Pro Tree.
All Vehicles MUST run through mufflers.
Any engine and transmission combination allowed.
Any power adder allowed.
No limits on wheel or tire size.
All classes will run F-body vs Mustang, if there is an unequal number of cars the same type vehicles will run one another.
Heads-Up Specifics
Run wutcha brung!!!!
Street Tire Bracket Specifics
Limited to DOT approved tires
No Bracket Racing Electronics Permitted
No limit on tire size
Slick Bracket Specifics
Open to any tire construction, including full slick or "street/cheater" slick tires
No limits on tire size
Bracket Racing Electronics Permitted

Sounds like a good time, now I'll just have to get to the track more this spring and start working on my reaction times....

in all fairness, tim's runs. its just not insured or registered or something like that. I on the other hand have no excuse because I sold 2 fbodies to pay for my jeep.

mine isn't insured right now. i took the carb off about a week ago to seal the motor up for winter too, but that is nothing that can't be fixed in 15mins

So, to run on that Friday night,would i be allowed to run, since i'm not really street driven but looks like a street car and with mufflers on,all lights work, it would be cool to run just for that night. could someone find out. Thanks. JR1.

friday night all you have to do is pass the normal friday night tech at island. there are no restrictions other than what the nhra and track normally require.

Well, i was told last year that there was a DB of 100, from 50ft.or so. but if i am allowed on fridays, i just wanted to attend the Shoot out. Thanks. JR1.

gates open at 6, we run 630-1030.. tim and i havent discussed what time we're going to start eliminations yet. i would guess around 8.
