Exclamation idle problem

Hey guys.... my car randomly started idling at around 2000rpm... it will stay constant sometimes at 2000rpm and then sometimes drop and then go back up, drop then go back up... does this sound like a bad tps? this is kidn of urgent since i need to make it back down to school for an exam at 7


its a 95 3.4l

can you get the computer scanned? it could be quite a few different sensors to be honest.

Yep!

If you are not pressing the gas at all it may be the IAC valve.

I have a scanner. Nothing about the TPS or IAC.

I bought a new TPS .... wasn't that. SHould i try an IAC?

What type of scanner fdo you have?

Monitor the voltage/readings for each sensor.

i used my multimeter to test the IAC.... it was registering around 12 and according to my manual it should be at least 40.. i replaced the IAC and it went up to like 3000rpm.. so i got real frustrated... restarted the motor and it dropped to normal i guess the pcm had to adjust

The IAC has to seat itself. If the plunger is in most of the way when you install it it is letting a lot of air pass by.

gotcha... thanks guys... i was just panicking because i had to make it back for an exam... i ended up missing the exam but i fixed my car.... win/lose?
