I'm sorry but I do have to disagree on this one. Third gen cars came were available with 3 different suspension levels, base, F41, and FE2. The specifics were different from year to year but in general the F41 was the mid level suspension with bigger sway bars, and stiffer springs and struts/shocks than the base suspension, but smaller bars and softer springs, shocks/struts than their FE2 counterparts.
For my year the F41 came with 32mm front and 21mm rear sway bars, the FE2 came with 36mm fronts and 24mm rears and stiffer shock/strut valving and stiffer springs. F41 listed as special heavy duty, FE2 listed as touring package.
The F41 was basically the highest suspension option available for base firebirds, berlinettas, and sport coupes. The TA's, Z28's came standard with F41 with the FE2 being an option.
