THANKS EVERYBODY!!!!!

i want to thank everyone who came out to island dragway today. it was a great time with a ton of great cars and a few hundred enthusiasts enjoying the days events.

heads up racing was a little thin, we will have to work on something for next year to beef that up. the bracket classes had some great competition, especially the race tire bracket.

car show was awesome. including a canadian big block 1970 camaro, a perfectly restored 69 z28, a very rare overhead cam 6cyl + 3spd manual 69 firebird convertable, and our best of show winner's amazing 1992 camaro rs.

i had a great time today talking to everyone and seeing all the happy winners when it was trophy time.

there will be a ton of pics coming soon thanks to Alex Quiles Photography of the days events and winners. including proof that savage messiah is shorter than our best of show winners trophy!!!! lol (sorry kasey, had to do it)

i am going to take a few days off and then we will start working on next years plan. we got some more good notes today and ideas for improvements. hope to see you all back out at Island Dragway for the 2008 East Coast F-Body Nationals.

-Thanks
-Tim

Great time

Though I did not participate in the car show due to a cracked windshield

I did make it there to spectate and watch some racing. I had an awesome time. I wish I could have met a few more of the members however I was able to meet some of them.

Also got a great sunburn so if anyone has a Red T/A I might be able to blend in

Tim, I am pissed that I was unable to make it this year due to an electrical issue with the car. I will return next year with the car and show it off again.
I have had alot more done to it in 2007 and really wanted to get up there.
It has been repainted after having the old airbrush designs removed on the sides, new interior, new rims, chrome powdercoat intake and polished throttlebody, and I had the entire backend apart and had all the backhalved parts repowdercoated a different color, etc. I really wanted to get it there for ya to see,but as for being dead in the water I just want to find the problem and get it running again.
See ya in '08 and hopefully then there will be no problems and I can drive it up there again.

Had a great time! I was really impressed by the friendliness of the track staff, and the other Fbody owners too! Seemed like a well-organized event, enough people there to make it interesting but not too many to slow things down. (other than the RX7 that broke, hah)

Will definitely put on my calendar for next year.

I told him that cooler weather or the atco mod or both will get him a 8 second time slip

Thanks, Tim. Had a great time running the race tire bracket. Made it to the last five, but lost on R/T the next race. But the day afford me the opportunity to learn the new line-locks. Carol followed me up this year so it was cool for her to see what a "day at the track" is all about. See ya's next year...

Thank you Tim and Justin. It takes a ton of your time to put this event together. It was nice that you guys finally signed up the the weather man as a sponser. I will always do my best to attend this event. It was events like this that got me hooked on racing. There was a decent amount of cars in the race tire (Pro) class. I could tell there were a few hitters as well as first timers. I lost 2nd round in a good race. We were side by side for the last 400' feet. I took the strip by a bit less than a fender but due to his better light I broke out by .015. Oh well next year. A note to all the people new to racing. I hope you get hooked and it just takes seat time. Bracket racing is brutal and one learn by losses. Yea I'm learining every race day. Again thanks to Tim and Justin for putting a great event together. -Jim

I had a really good time and wanted to say thanks to everyone that made it possible. I just started showing my car this year and it was very refreshing to be around a bunch of Fbodies and their owners not just because they know the lingo but it gives you future ideas and fellow enthusiasts recognize your car as well. There was more comradery and it made a nice day into a really fun time. Would like to go again next year. One of the best parts was Tim on his tippy toes for the picture.

Very nice event, I'm glad I made it. I didn't enter the show, but I got some test and tune time in on the car and learned some good stuff for the future. The car didn't perform like I thought it would with the drag radials, but I learned alot from the 4 runs I got, ( It would have taken two trip to atco to get four runs in).
