I dropped an intake manifold bolt in my engine bay
And now I can't find it. Do I buy a new bolt or light the car on fire?

Speaking as someone who has done it, pull the manifold and check all the intake ports thoroughly. If it’s not in the cylinder head, buy a bolt and move on. I lost one, didn’t pull the manifold, and took out an injector luckily. It could’ve been worse.

I tried checking in the intake ports. It's tough to see. Pretty sure it isn't in there.

Tried that. I used my fingers, magnet, a flashlight. I even had my wife look.
Car is going on fire.

I found it. It was wedged between the bottom of the fan shroud and the radiator. I couldn't get my fat fingers in there so I had to get my wife to grab it with the magnet while I lifted the radiator up and it fell down.
The car won't be lit on fire after all.

Should proactively delete this thread for insurance reasons.

It's taking every bit of me to not spend $70 on shiny ARP bolts for my new valve covers.

Here I am, late to the party, was going to ask if the car was a manual and if I could have the transmission, console and pedal assembly before said fire.
Glad you found it, though!
