4th gen rust
Just asking for opinions, if anybody has seen any areas on their cars prone to rusting. i know like 3rd gens had floor pan problems, and a few other areas. I havent seen any major rusting besides some surface rust on the inside of the door area ( been fixed) but has anyone had problems with the wheel wells, or chassis, or floor pans?
I just want to prep my car and fix it ahead of time before anything goes bad lol, thanks guys.

rear shock tower / wheel well areas are a known issue to heavily exposed cars

I've noticed on my 96, the platewhere the stock airbox would be opposite the battery, theres a little rust forming there.

Dead serious, it's just barely starting to bubble up on my drivers side door right along the line where the molding is

I might expect to eventually see rust along the firewall in the corners where the wheel wells slope down, like behind the ecm. the 99 I stripped had a pine needle & leaf pile back there. No big rust yet but eventually there would be.
I saw very little rust on the 99Z I stripped, ~9 years/80000 miles. I remember the shock mount on the UCA was a total disaster. IIRC there is a rubber isolator that must trap water. What a mess. And the fuel and brake line nuts. The lines had some green coating and looked like new but the nuts were quite rusted. Other than that not bad. I was more amazed how the bottom of the car looked just like the bottom of my 82 TA. 1980 engineering lives!
