What type of tranny?

No no you sicko's I'm looking to replace the transmission in my 86 TA currently has a T5 in it with about 55k miles on it and no issues but I recently made a heart transplant and replaced the torque monster 305 LG4 with a more fuel efficient 383 stroker, looking at around 475-500hp to the flywheel and similar torque numbers, rear has been updated to support it but my guess is its only a matter of time until the trans goes kablooie. Any suggestions? T56? Def want to stay with the gears.

Thanks

Yea, T56 swap is likely your best bet. It's been done plenty of times, swap parts are available all over.
