New member here! long story about my f-body buying experiences! lots of pictures!!
I just found out about this NJFBOA, and i think its pretty awesome, so many f-body owners near my area and i never knew about this lol! Plus I live 6 miles from island dragway so i can go to the nationals this year and i can also go to the Hackettstown meet!
i Originally used to own a red '96 Firebird Formula with 70k miles on it for just over a month and it was at the shop 5 times for the same problems they had to fix for it to pass NJ state inspection, cause they were located in emmaus PA they garanteed it to pass. It was also rollbacked 4 times because they messed up the ignition cylinder every time and couldnt get it right so I'd get it home and a day or two later the security light would prevent me from starting it, lets just say i had the worst Christmas break ever! Apparantly the car was owned by a younger kid who beat the snot out of it mechanically wise. I was just too anxious and stupid and wanted to get into an f-nody that i ignored the obvious signed, like misaligned fenders and an hour after i drove it home the rear end made horrible noises. It was the FASTEST piece of crap I have ever driven, even thoguh it had the 2.73 gears and A4 transmission haha. Then a few weeks of looking for something much better and taking my time a friend of mine found a craigslist ad for another 1996 Firebird Formula, 6 speed with 73k miles black on black leather, monsoon sound system oil changed ever 3k miles. So i went down to look at it and i had a nice LARGE check list and everything checked out well, i even paid less for this car than the red one and got 1000X's better of a car in EVERY way. I paid 6000 for this heap of crap red one and 5500 for my new black one!! I thank the people for giving me my money back so much, I was EXTREMELY lucky, and they probably felt like they were gonna get into legal troubles eventually and the guy who sold me the car felt horrible, since the damn thing broke ON CHRISTMAS EVE lol... anyway enough story time heres the cars!
sorry for any typos and the long read, i cant look down when im typing casue i had nose surgery and its still bleeding so i dont want to look down haha.
