94 LT1 in a 93 z28....

Donor is a true stock '94 LT1/4l60e setup(trans am).
Project is a '93 z28 roller (was lt1/t56).

What would be my best bet to make this swap work?

-option 1: use '93 dash harness, 94 engine harness and custom wire up the auto shifter. will the firewall connectors even plug together, '93-'94?

-option 2: use '94 T/A dash/interior harness and modify all gauge and dash connectors to work with the camaro dash components. a lot of work but doable.

-option 3: buy and install a '94 automatic Camaro dash harness and use that to connect to the '94 T/A engine harness. That should work right?

You can't swap all of the 94 wiring into the 93 aside from the tail light/back of the car harness? The gauge cluster should fit but I haven't compared two side by side. Do you want everything to work? A/c, air bags, abs, cruise, etc?

Yes, I can swap the entire interior harness, That's option 2. That hard part would be any switches that don't have the same connectors between the trans ams and Camaros. I know the cluster plug on the 93-96 camaro is different from the cluster plug on 93-02 trans ams. I'm not sure if the headlight switch connector, hvac, etc are the same or different.

Right now, i think modding/splicing the cluster plug and maybe a few others is my best choice

Off the top of my head the 93 will have the wrong data bus signal wire for the 94, easy to move but may be a pain to deal with.

No MAF or auto trans plug, not sure what trans you plan on running..

I personally would either A) get a 24x hardware kit and repin the 94 harness as if it was a 93 to use the LS1 PCM B) swap the entire car to a 94 C) Find a 93 harness.

the 93-02 firebird clusters are the same shape as the 97-02 camaro ones but the 93-96 are a whole different shape, longer and thinner.

yea i think ill swap the whole 94 harness. I wont be keeping the car so I dont want to spend money I don't need to.
