lS2 Powered RX-7 checking in...

Hey all -figured I would come over here and check out the site. Always looking for local resources!

Anyway... here she is -not an F-body I know -but it makes up for it with awesome... it is a dedicated track car -but I take it on the streets
here and there. The chassis is getting caged right now and the motor rebuilt.

LS2 with a Tex-Racing 4 speed dogbox... all sorts of goodies.

Tex Racing trans:

LS2:

Rad had to be flipped -it was not cooling this way -no flow.

First fire up:

Hurt the motor:

It's being rebuilt right now.

Under 2500lbs -but I'm about to add about 100lbs of cage -doing a 6-point.

I've never run the 1/4 but I should be able to get a low 11sec pass out of it as long as I can hook.

The oil pan had to be swapped to an F-body pan to clear the steering rack. The pan was contaminated from when it was cleaned and blasting material chewed up the bottom end -mainly just the rod and thrust bearings. I'm having new rods, all bearings, oil pan rod bolts, crank and valve springs/retainers installed. I found a company that builds armored trucks and the remove the stock rotating assembly from the trucks right away to go forged -got the assembly for $320 shipped. It's from th y66 engine -but the crank, rods wrist pins are the same thing -I'm just going to reuse my pistons as the y66 pistons are lower compression -my pistons were fine. The assembly I purchased looks new -however we are going to mic everything -so far looks good.

Basically the pan was blasted using aluminum oxide and material stuck to the walls of the pan even though it went through a parts cleaner multiple times -once hot the oil pulled the material out and chewed up the bearings. I noticed a drop in oil pressure and immediately pulled the pan to find metal shavings and the oil contaminated. There was no rod knock or anything -but it was clear something was wrong. Huge set back and I did not get much seat time -but come April it will be back together caged and ready to rock.

Shortly after this pic was taken that bottle of Jameson was empty:

nah I just moved here. I went to CC in like 99-2000. I hear them racing on the parkway late Sunday nights.... sounds like mostly Hondas to me. I'll prob swing through this season to promote my events.

Are there any forums that are local to Spring Valley?

no i dont know of any.

but yeah most of them are hondas that go. But i have seen modded TB/SS's, vipers, a second gen and someother unordinary cars come thorugh. But the cops last year gave out 67 tickets or something like that last year in one night so it scarred alot of the people that do not actual race from going.

yeah if I get pulled over they are sure to throw the book at me... I'm running straight pipes... when I first got it running I pulled it outside and started it and the cops showed up.

basically same thing as the G4A G-Force bought out Tex Racing and changed the name of it to the G4A -this was built before G-Force took over... I got it used from a NASCAR team and had it completely rebuilt. The straight cut gears are REALLY loud...
