first time in the 11's

First time at the track on spray, went 11.86@116 mph. On 275/40 17 drag radials. Needing to use 5th gear is killing my et so Ill need a 28" tall tire. Not too bad for first time on spray i think lol.

Its says 117.29mph? Good pass though. Don't wanna raise your limiter or go to a 27" tire? I don't know much, but I'd think the 28's would hurt you some.

Way to go! Its a great feeling when you finally break 11's! Good Job, Congrats

BTW, What gears are you running? I'd shy away from using 5th for 2 reasons. 1, 5th and 6th in an fbdoy t56 is relatively weak meaning its a good chance you'll break something. 2. The load the motor sees' on n2o in overdrive can potenially hurt the something in the motor, not to mention how hot things get from the excess cylinder pressure generated.

I'd either raise the limiter or run a 27" tall tire, or both. A 28" might be a bit much for a bolt-on nitrous car. Plus I don't think the 10 bolt will like it much.

All in all, congrats, your doing great!

typo meant to hit the 117 lol. I do plan on running a taller tire when i get some cash to avoid using 5th gear. My trap and et would probably see a decent gain from that. Plus there is no way to quickly shift into 5th lol.

Thanks rob

I know I needed 5th killed my et and mph lol. Its funny you say that because i built up enough crank case pressure to blow up the dip stick, and completely blackened the plugs on cylinder 2-4-6-8. I have 4.11's and a 12 bolt now. I know I need a taller tire just gotta save some cash up. What can I trap on a 27" tire in 4th gear? I plan on upping the shot and camming next after I upgrade to the stage 3 clutch.

What's your shift point / redline?

Based on a true 27" tire (no growth):

RPM / MPH
6200 / 121
6400 / 125
6600 / 129
6800 / 133

my limiter is 6400. I have the window switch set for 6300 and I shift at 6200. Dont make any power and further on a stock cam.

Thanks for the chart, 27" will be good until I cam it. I dont see me trapping faster than 125 bolt-ons on a 100-125shot.

went 12.3@114 n/a on a drag radial. car just has headers/tune/duals/lid, monster clutch tick master, 12 bolt with 4.11s, also a bad 1.8 60'. I want an 11 sec motor pass on slicks and skinnies so we'll see. car has a lot more in it on spray but I need a taller tire. needed 5th gear...bad idea
