does it matter what car? mine is great. holds like a glove, pedal feel is nice, overall a good unit. all clutches are hit or miss IMO so you are always running the chance of having clutch failure. and with your track record its more then likely

is the spec 3 real grabby or are u able to slip it decently?
i figure if the spec 3 clutch is real harsh on engagement i might as well just go with the spec 4

its grabby but definately slipable. granted i have a billet steel flywheel which is lighter then stock but you get the point. i think your tranny will go before a spec 3 and i've heard that some find spec 4 to be slightly unstreetable but i think thats a relative statement. i think you should do a stage 3. its plenty strong and can still be street driven without a problem. and if this is for the 2.8, you better get a lightened flywheel cause a light flywheel + boost will be one hell of a ride!

its a dam shame a sbc clutch is to large by a tiny bit to fit inside the v6 bellhousing.they do make adapter plates to bolt the v8 trans to the v6 but doing that swap costs alot of money.and if i went that route id have to do the t56 swap as well

Eh....Little G put 35ish thousand miles on his Centerforce dual friction, with well over 100 passes. 5k+ rpm launches.

Like you said Jake, all of them are hit or miss.

I would grab a spec, make sure you follow the break in procedure correctly, and hope for the best.

installing them correctly is another big deal. do it right the first time and break it in correctly (no seriously, do it)

WAIT NO .. its a Zoom

I was waiting for spec to replace my defective unit, and in the meantime i took the zoom that Rob_ws6 and I pulled out of the 95 parts car he got, and it had probably 1000 miles on it.

So I sent the spec back in exhange for a RAM and gave that to him to replace the zoom i got off him.

Most of them are the same anyways. All the pressure plates are made by valeo. Most of the disks are the same with different colors. Spec have really their own design and all.

well someone told me it was a spec 3+, and they told me that because they claimed 3's were round and 3+ were the puck version, i didnt really care to argue, if the 3s were the 6 puck then thats what i had. When i bought mine, it was advertised to hold 600hp.

my issue was with the springs in the disc itself, i broke all but 1 of them, and i read that its a big problem as far as a lot of people having it. my pressure plate was all spotted too, and the flywheel actualyl had a >1/8th inch worn down on it. I paid i think 420 shipped for it back in '02/'03 and it came with the flywheel. now they are like 475 w/o flywheel, total junk for the price if you ask me. I installed it perfectly and broke it in according to instructions. I was all about them but after i saw the broken disc and saw others complaints, i decided never again, I got a Ram HD now for the new setup.
