Runs excellent and use regularly when weather permits. Owned bike since late 2003 w/ 7k miles. Used as daily transportation & long leisure rides. Bike is comfortable to ride all day w/ needing a chiropractor visit. Never stunted as that is not my style. I ride mostly twisty roads and highway. While an older bike, it is no slouch and will get deep into triple digit speeds very quickly.
42.5k on bike, 20k on 2001 ZX9 motor. Have original motor & trans which has back cut gears. That trans shifted silky smooth. Motor swapped due to low compression in one cylinder. I am informed this is common with the '98-99 motors. Deemed cheaper to replace than to rebuild at the time in late 2005.
Full M4 Header exhaust w/ carbon fiber muffler . Sound good, not too loud like some D&D systems
Fairings do have scuff on them for use and a couple of tip overs in the driveway. no crashes. Frame is straight.
OK for a first bike as long as you are sensible and slowly get used to it.
Oil changed every 1500-2k miles always Mobile 1 15w-50
Tires are brand new Pirelli Diablo 180/55/17 & 120/70/17
