Nothing surprising, really.

The moronic comments afterwards are even better. Then again I love comments idiots make about cars they cannot even come close to affording. I assume because their spelling & grammar are so bad they cannot fill out the app at McDonalds correctly.

redline and royal purple woulda done JUS fine. the only reason its so expensive for the stuff you bought is because it was prolly imported hell...
Yes, let’s put the wrong fluid in a trans, especially one that appears to have trans issues. I’ll bet this jackhole would have used “good ole dextron”. I remember when Chrysler came out with its own specific formula auto trans fluid. When you used something else the trans stopped shifting.

I don’t see where the article mentions vehicle mileage. This might bother me too:

Our service advisor also noted that our right-rear tire had lost a strip of rubber on the inner edge, metal was showing.
I guess if it is over 20k miles then ok, but it’s a 2009 model. I wonder if this is the 15k service.

1.5 hours labor seems a bit much, but you are right, you pay to play with big $$ cars. But the Porsche probably takes 10+ quarts of oil. IIRC older 911s took 11 qts.

My 924 holds 7 quarts, and its only a 2.5L. We should open up a national GTR service shop

Well total cost of (213.23 + tax) an oil change is still less than a Porsche.

I just don't get what's so surprising. I would never pay that because I would do it myself, but hey some people don't like doing that.

Yep. My dad's 930 takes 11 qts so that's the expensive aspect of it.

I enjoy the simpleton comments as well. That's right Johnny BigNuts. That team of engineers that designed a fluid based on years of engineering work and fluid dynamics testing doesn't know ****. Neither to the guys that designed that trans. You know better, because you've been doing your own fluid changes for years. Go ahead and run your regular oil, you know, the one that's designed around compatibility with the most amount of vehicles so they can sell it to the most amount of people. And **** additive packages, that's just fancy talk for extra profit.

All of you who are surprised by the "cost of maintenance" should facepalm yourself

Even my moms Caddy SRX has an "expensive" oil change. Dealer wanted 175 bucks just to change oil. Where's the outrage now?

Any dealership service on a high end vehicle is like this will be pricey. Someone shoudl look up the scheduled maintenance costs of a ZR1, I bet they aren't far off. As mileage goes up it only goes higher too, Ferrari timing belt service is a $3-5k job depending what model you have.

It does make me laugh when people complain about specified fluids too. There are vehicles out there that are actually that specific in their needs. Most cars can get away with whatever oil, but that ends once you start getting into engines and parts that are getting pushed hard.
