Personally I don't like it. It kills the body lines of the car and obstructs your view from inside the car.

I don't think it's too bad. It might look a lot better with paint. I tried to look up some alternatives for you but it looks like the popular/affordable hoods are either cowl or 4th gen ram air style- not too much else.

i think it sits too high
here's a 2.5 how it looks
Keep in mind you cannot even see the top of the pass. side light when its on...... with these hoods you gain an extra blindspot

I'm not feeling the cowl hood on it, but if you need the clearance def go for the 2.5 over the one you showed, it looks better in my opinion.

I think it is the ground effects that make the difference. Without them the hood doesn't really look right.

The 2.5 looks better. The other one looks out of place.

Why are you buying a hood for a car that doesn't run?
|
its called looking for a part..
and i just need a pushrod, a rocker arm stud, and a poly lock and the car can be put back together, so it might not run, but it only needs a couple bucks and an hour and its back up...

The 2.5" looks better, the front of the scoop has a more natural flow. I have always gone with harwood hoods. Make sure you get the hood springs too. Harwood also sells them. Good Luck.

takes away alot of the lines of your car. go with a smaller cowl or maybe try some ground effects?

im not a fan of cowl's on firebirds, thats like putting a ram air scooped hood on a camaro, just doesnt look right. Thats my opinion though.

No offense to anyone on here, but IMO, the cowl hood has been played out so much anymore, its a boring design to me anymore. On some cars it looks ok, but unless its being functional, to most cars ( Mustangs, Camaro, Firebirds) it kills the lines, especially on 4th gen where the lines are more rounded and smoothed over. Now to 3rd gen firebirds, if your going with the 90+ front end, it would look fugly with a cowl hood, and buying that ram air style is even worse, I think those hoods have no place on a 3rd gen, and more so on Camaro's. If you really want to go out Mr. Money bags ( I say this cause your doing all this work on the car, and changing the front end to a 90+, when you could of just bought a 90+ Firebird and been done with it a long time ago) I would suggest building your own hood, make it unique, so when you pull into a car meet or show, instead of people saying oh, another cowl hood, you hear, wow look at that Firebird! Don't know how to build one or where to begine, look at other cars, look at their hoods, their designs, and get a general feeling for what might actually look good, and have a few people help you on teh build who have experiance with fabricating with metal/ wood/ fiberglass. You'd be amazed at how easy it is to construct your own hood.
