DYNO!?!?! Feedback Needed

hey gang,
we may have a dyno set up fo the event. jsut need a little bit of feedback needed to get everything finalized.

just wondering how many people are interested in hittin the dyno?

would you need wideband O2 or will jsut power pulls be good enough?

biggest thing i need to know about is pricing.

how much would you gusy consider fair for 2 power pulls?

3 power pulls?

2 pulls with wideband?

3 pulls with wideband?

i still have to talk to the track adn get back to teh dyno company, but everythign loosk good if we can work out pricing that both sides are satisfied with.
we also need to determine if there are 20-24 people who would like to preregister for the dyno. this would be a route to getting better pricing if some cars are locked in.

thanks
tim

there was a guy that had a dyno at E-town some time ago, $60.00 for 3 pulls, no tuning,$20.00 a pull sounds good, what does the guy with the dyno charge for the day,the pull,or how many cars can he get in one day for dyno time. getting people to register now is a great idea, looks good to the track and to the guy with the dyno.i'd stick with just power pulls, gets more cars in, in one day.

i was thinking just power pulls would be a good idea cause it would leave time for the most people to run. he did say f-bodies are pretty easy and that he can get a car on, strapped down, 2 or 3 pulls, and off the dyno in about 20 mins.
he does not have far to travel, so it looks like we are just discussing a per car fee for the pulls.
i am going to get in touch with the track this week and see what they need and then talk to the dyno guy to try to get everything finalized.
keep the feedback coming gang.

the cheaper the better of course 8)...power pulls are good enough, no one is gonna be tuning on a portable dyno anyway since the track is gonna be 4 feet away

there will be a print out of the pulls. it is possible to dyno if you are racing. just a matter of getting straight to the dyno in the morning before eliminations start or in the afternoon if you lose a round.

if you get that updated combo together and don't run teh car i will be forced to smack you. :P
your car is too good a combo of looks and speed to leave jsut sitting in teh show field. let everybody drool on it while it is in the lanes. then go out and show them how it runs too.

I may dyno, but the portable dyno's I've used in the past were junk. I had one that had an 81HP change in between pulls. did 391 the first pull and 310 the second. Guy said it must be "Heat in the engine". Have to be pretty damn hot to lose 80+HP. Anyway I would probably do it again just for fun if the price is right.

Hi,
Based on the price, I'd be interested because I'm curious as to what my car's putting to the wheels. Keep us informed.

Sincerely,

I'd be up for it if the price was right.. Would love to find out what she's putting down but with gas prices don't know if I can afford to take it out of the garage!

its absolutely no worse than a regular road on a load bearing dyno...now if its a free wheeling dyno (iirc), there is no load so its like your car is driving on jack stands

Any word if the Dyno is going to be there or how much its going to be? That is going to be the desiding factor if I bring my car or not.
