performance chip

Any experience with hypertech or jet chips? and any good place to buy one? I've heard good things from my old boss..had a hypertech in his TPI vette, said it made a big difference. Also heard good things from my friend Steve, said huge difference from the hypertech in his 89 350 TPI GTA. Reason I'm doing this is because it's just for a mildly modded 350, I figure I'll have prevost give me a good tune when I drop the 400 in. Thanks for the help

Prevost is the man, even for a mild motor. My car picked up a crapload of power over my stock chip with Jon's tune. I wouldn't spend the coin for a Hypertech when Jon is just as reasonable (maybe even better, pricewise) and he'll be in the car with you to do it. The off-the-shelf calibrations from those companies are better than stock, but nothing like having one burnt for your particular car and combo.

never ever ever never buy some crap hypertech or whatever brand chip. they are crap and only mildly boost performance at WOT, not across the entire rpm range. and they are also generic to that type of vehicle. get one from a private individual that will custom tune a chip FOR YOU. he can tweak it to your mods and give you a lot more performance for the same price. ive got a pcmforless tune in my car, good stuff. try fastchips too, there are a few people that do it if you dont know someone local.

I say go with Prevost....better tune, and most likely a better price too.

of the shelf chips are junk.
talk to fasterthanyou about it. he can data log your car and tune from that so that it is custom to the exact needs of your car.
