do yourself a BIG favor and lose the glass fuel filter, its a disaster waiting to happen
whats that little brace going from the strut tower to the frame? ive never seen that before.

my friend who built it deleted the AC, and machined kind of a box there out of aluminum, the wires going into it is for the resistor for the fans inside of the car

i have seen that brace, my iroc has one, 88vert's has one as well. its a stock piece, not sure what its used for tho

Nope, my 87 had that too. I remember moving it to get the header in there. I said to myself "what the f is this thing, and what exactly is this supporting?"
I think I still have it somewhere.

From about 1989-1992 most Trans Am's, Formula's and GTA's had that piece AND ALSO a bar that fit into the hole on the passenger side lower hood support. This bar attached itself to a hole that was located on the firewall lip just to the right of the coil. I believe it was a fender support brace and that other piece was to keep the strut tower from lifting up under hard acceleration and was attached to the frame below. My guess it was some sort of strut tower support system. Now my Formula did not have this part, but mostly every other GTA from that time period had it, as did most IROC Camaro's. It took a long time to locate one(the fender brace bar)because most people do not know what it is or what to call it. I never got that piece(in the picture)because it would be impossible to get it bolted into the frame without removing the engine!

I USED TO HAVE an 85 Camaro 305 4bbl, 90 Firebird V6, 97 Firebird V6 (10 speakers!). Despite the two family vehicles, 3 kids, wife and mortgage, I can finally realize the dream - 88 TA almost all stock... for now.
