Good shop to rebuild a t56?
Anyone know of a good shop to have a t56 rebuilt in north jersey? Just picked up a complete setup for a great deal however there may be a possible bearing issue (hence the great deal). thanks, dave.

We had a sponsor on here, Bob Hanlon, who also does fantastic work although he's in PA:

I'd use Bob first, too, but Dave asked about North NJ and Hanlon can be a haul from there.

yeah Rockland is great. Spent 1875$ on a completely rebuilt and my core with some upgrades and 6qrts of there oil. That was at a wholesale price. Let me know we can probably do something if you are looking to spend that much.
it is the tranzilla -17 which is a slightly upgraded rebuild.

I would have to call with the # on the trans and find out. Went over it the day I picked it up 3 months ago.

I remember many years ago shifting Alex's (Arock) RSG trans and being blown away at how smooth it shifted. Better than my trans did when it was brand new. Maybe he can also chime in here with what he had done.

This is the email I got back, the trans might be under my buddies name I have to check my invoice and get them the proper name and number.
I don't see your name anywhere in the computer, so I can only give you some limited information
usually a T56-017 is a rebuilt unit with all the possible upgrades.
it has the latest design 2nd gear, and carbon rings and h/d 3/4 shift fork, competition shimmed and blueprinted
