Drive line Vibration
Around 80mph and above my car seems to start vibrating, seems to come from the passenger side front. I am pretty sure its not engine vibration, in neutral it revs up nice and smoothly.
Hard to tell if its transmission/drive shaft related.. to me it seemed to come from the front wheel area but again, I couldn't really tell exactly where it was coming from.
Does not sound like a header banging on the floor board but I plan on checking that, but since it only does it at higher speeds I am doubting that being at fault.
Plan is to swap front wheels and see if it follows to the driver side. And then re balance both fronts.
The other thought was maybe the drive shaft? I know that around that speed is where the stock drive shaft will start to make noise if it became un balanced.
Thoughts?

It's most likely tire or wheel related. I would check them first. You won't usualy notice tire vibration at low speeeds. A wheel weight may have been knocked off or moved.

seems rather high speed to just to be a tire vibration, if you can find a place that can pin plate the wheels when they balance them.
check your suspension for play to, ball joints, bushings, tie rods and bearings.

That is what I am hoping it is. I had the front tires put on but a shop and I dunno their workmanship quality etc.
Hopefully a re balance will fix things.

is the wheel attached to the spindle...attached to the control arm....attached to the kmember...... attached to the frame of the car.....attacxhed to the body.....seat attached to the frame/metalpan of car.....
then you could get a vibration through the car feeling like something else. been there done that, was a recommendation....
go chet in a hat and stay on one thread !!!
ha hah ah just f'n wit ya

I'll be in Beach haven this thursday, I will come steal your wheel hub.
But first off I am gonna get the wheels balanced and see how that does. No sense in making **** harder than it has to be.

This is bad news.
Still gonna check the fronts, and then I guess get the up in the air and check out the header/frame rail clearance. Hopefully its something dumb.

Can hurt to look but front wheel balance issues almost always shake the steering wheel.
http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires/vibechart.pdf
Back when I was int eh business I asked that 1st question "Is vibration noticed through steering wheel or through seats/floor?" maybe a million times working with customers. It is key.

Good link. I just noticed it though cause it was the first time in while I had driven it and was able to hear things.
I will check as much as I can when I am home again.

Try checking your drive shaft u-joint, If you have an adjustable torque arm, recheck your pinion angle.

its most likely your drive shaft.. but i would still check tire balance first... my old steely would vibrate after 80 and get really bad around 90 then i put the ls1 in there and it was smooth as can be... i have one if you want it we can make a deal... i have a moly one to use with my rear.... but the aluminium is on the ca rright now because the stock yoke is smaller than the other one and i didnt want tranny fluid to leak out on first startup... if you come and help the car idle then i can take it off and move on to the next step of my project but i need it on for now till i get it running steady
