engine is in!

Saturday i decided to drop my temporary engine in the nova, im still waiting on a few things to actually fire it up but for the most part its set.






also finished my mounting bracket for the pump

This one is a 350 I put together. It has heads from my 400 and a choppy cam. I'm still saving to put the 400 together

Low 13s high 12s. As a guess. Its got 355 gears 12 bolt tubular a arms drag radials and a t56. I plan on putting in gears like 4.56 just because I can still cruise with the t56 but ill see where I trap at

thanks!, why should i change leaf springs? have the split monos gotten bad reviews?

yes, i put the clamp at the end to keep the braided steel from separating, without it, the braided steel looked sloppy

Ok, cause if you tighten a hose clamp on a push lok fitting it will ruin the hose and potentially leak just as an FYI if you were not aware.

Otherwise, looks great!

thanks man, thanks for the tip though. any little helps because im new to this fuel line stuff. i figured id make it look good so i went with all the AN fittings and braided line.

Thanks guys! I have an ear to ear grin looking at it because when I was 18 I had a 69 nova and my father wouldn't let me put a v8 in it so its what I've been waiting for since I was 18 haha

Looks good! MSD/Line Loc locations look familiar. LOL.

As for the fuel system, not trying to be critical but it looks like you are missing a pre-pump fuel filter and the braided line is all wrong. That is not the correct way to do it- either use a push-lok fitting and push-lok hose or go braided and such. Braided is not that bad to do if you are careful, and the Jeg's house brand fittings are not too horrible in function or price.

When I cut braided, I tape about a 2 inch section and cut in the center of it. I get the cutoff disc spinning full speed and then go straight and quick through the line. If you start effing with the end strands, start over cause they will never go into the fitting correctly

Same deal. 2" section, tape, cutoff wheel spinning fast. If it frays just a little I can guide it in with a screwdriver, and when I thread the female hose end onto the male end I use some assembly lube or ATF on the threads. The soft vise jaws and AN wrenches help keep them nice, too.

Thanks guys. Please be critical! I need to learn this stuff I will buy a filter and re do the line. Any tips for getting the hose over the fittings? They are a PITA

Like Bill said, some atf or silicone spray with help get it over. The braided lines on braided fittings is much easier than the push lok fitting

Push lok is cleaner and easier to install. Cheaper too, I think.

I can pick up my old trans with the pushlok hoses attached via pushlok fittings to it.
