I don't think you can run with the top down with just a 6 point bar, but I might be wrong.

Wonder if that's a new rule? There's a teal 68? GTO convertible with a full cage that runs high 8s/low 9s at Island once in a while and he always has the top down and the canvas boot over it...full face helmet.

Yea, I know with a (10?) point you were allowed to make passes in a vert with the top down up to a certain speed. We looked into it one year because there was a guy who asked if he could race at the Nats with the top down (he had all the necessary equipment to do so as per the NHRA rulebook at the time).

thats island. you can make a pass in a vert with the top down with 3 girls in the car all making sandwiches and they wouldnt say a word.
