Last year was rained out. The previous year I believe the fastest car (3rd gen) was in the low 9s or high 8s.

Friday is a muffled street night at Island Dragway and we figured keeping the image of the night all street car would attract the broadest audience. Transbrakes have a stigma of being "race car" parts and scare a lot of people away.

Guess I will fit into the Quick Street Bracket since I run much slower that 12.50. Can the BIG Trophy be replaced with a bunch of towels? I can hand them out to the poor F-Body drivers so they can dry their tears after being beaten. It will be a sad way for them to start the F-body Nationals weekend.

It would be about time a Mustang managed to win to be honest. Besides, we already know you are a good driver, it is just that car that will hold you back. lol
Spread the word in the Mustang community a bit if you can Kaz, it's always a good time.

No cut out, has to be muffled. Line locks are fine for burn outs, no using them with any form of launch control/transbrake. Nitrous is fine
The rules are pretty straight forward, show up muffled and launch from a foot brake.

This mustang is much better than the driver. After a few rounds it's a safe bet the Island tech crew will be looking for a box. I'll post up on the stang sites.

Pony's elimination lights this past weekend at the Grove.
Saturday, .048, 030, .000, -.005 woops)
Went back on Sunday again elimination lights .029, 007, 035.
This is with a totally new shallow staging routine. Driver error ended Pony's winning ways. My bad on the quarter-final redlight on Saturday. Ran it out anyway to a 14.10 on a 14.11 dial. In Sunday's 3rd round elimination round I took too much stripe and broke out. (had the better light). This driver will improve by August. F-body guys and gals pray for a rain-out. Its your only hope.

It's going to be tricky to launch that car bein a 6 speed. Let me know when you run it. I'm sure it'll go pretty good. I just bought eastsides 383 that goes 9.20's on a 100 shot

I'll know a little better what the interest is like after this weekend. Have you had any luck on the mustang boards?

When one says "BRACKET RACING" most run for the hills. lol I'll post up on the Mustang sites next week when it's a bit closer to the event. I haven't been racing much this season, so I will most likely be easy first round fonder. Pony got beheaded last month at Maple by a 3rd gen Camaro. Stupid little blue camaro was .008 on the tree and went 9.688 on a 9.68. My lame run was .008 on the tree and I dumped (wasn't going to take the stripe) to go .03x over for the loss (14.25x on a 14.22 dial). I may get the Formula ready for the Sunday show. Bird has been stting since last year. Can't promise for Sunday but I will be there Friday in the Mustang.

That's strange, I would think that a heads up race is more frightening than a bracket race, but what do I know lol

It's bracket racing. How fast is meaningless. Being slow can be a big advantage because of the big head start. Faster car will be sitting on the starting line waiting for the tree to drop and have to play catch up.

Cut a better light and run closer to your dial that your opponent without going red or breaking out. Sounds easy but takes a lot of skill.

what time tonight? 6:30?
I found my old motocycle helmet. It says DOT 3 on the back, is that up to standard?
Need long pants, right?

Yes you need long pants, not sure on helmet but you can rent one of theirs for 5 bucks so it's not a big deal. And Gates open 6 pm, races start 630. I will be there...not sure in the Camaro or Explorer.
