Who said 305's were slow!
This has a strong running 305 that has to meet tough APBA specs and it runs really well. I think he is planning on running with the Jersey Outlaws again this summer if they do have a race season.

Do you know what rpm he's turning? I wonder what class he would be in. I love watching them run at parkertown, our house is like a mile from there.

The video is a boat. Is that where the engine is? I'm like missing something.

He is actually standing next to a 305 turd gen and videoing the speed skiffs. Little confusing I know.

I think he runs around 6800-7000 rpm's. I'm pretty sure it's an APBA legal setup but I think he runs in the unlimited class with the Jersey Outlaws this past year. He was giving some of the ski boats (with 600+ hp) a close run. The ski boats have skegs on the bottom so they actually turn though.

Is it a factory GM 305, or is it a 305 the way a 302 became a 305 for Trans Am racing?

i remember have a bright idea about building a 335 stroker, then i realized how little power it would make on a good day for all that money. glad i went for a 355 instead and ditched the tbi.

Factory 305. APBA only allows 283 or 305 and they still run mid 80's mph with these engines. Jersey Outlaws have a 350 skiff class and unlimited skiff class, but last year they were low on the skiff boat count. It sounds like there are quite a few skiffs that were planning to race this year so hopefully the race sites aren't completely destroyed by the hurricane and leftover debris.
