No Title

So, Ive acquired an 86 Camaro, paid half, took the car, was supposed to get the title and pay the remaining balance (were talking very little money). Car hadn't been used since 2004, apparently there was a fire and the title was lost. Last registered owners family was supposed to get a duplicate title and that hasn't happened, now not answering.
Anyway has anyone gotten a Title for I guess say an abandoned vehicle in NJ?

What "V" posted is probably the best option. Years back I did a bunch of "abandonment" titles for work..It was a similar process, but it was always easier to get a junk title then a full blown title to put a car on the road.

I have used title king express. They got me a title for a vehicle without all the hassle. check them out.
