Daytime running lights
I don't know about you guys, but i hate the DRLs, and i know there is a way to kill them. My friend found a "DRL killer" for his trailblazer ss and I want to know if anyone knows anything about it. Yes i'm aware the lights are there for safety and whatever, but i want them gone! lol thanks for the help in advance

That's going to be tough considering newer cars use a separate module for them.

Give me a few hours, maybe at lunch time ill see what info i can find.
All of my cars that had DRLs ive disconnected, i still have to do my 2011 Cruze, but my 01 ss 99 denali and 05 CTSV all had separate drl modules you either fully unplug, cut one wire, or ground a terminal.
check back here tonight/tomorrow night

ok, ive found several threads and seems like everyone cries about the "safety" issue requiring them. people suck
from what ive read so far, seems the cars has a light sensor for the auto on feature which also activates the DRLs. and that the light sensor feeds the input straight to the BCM. apparently it can be tuned out somehow through the computer, but thats one way.
if i had a car to look over, i may be able to find much simpler way to do it.
as of right now, to run hids on a NON-RS camaro, i would run an extra wire from the headlight switch that gives 12v when in the on or activated at night time position, to a 12v relay up front. Use that 12v relay to activate the hids which would be then wired directly to the battery. that way, the whole stock headlight harness and plug is bypassed and you wont have to worry about drls. later i could draw you up a schematic of what im talking about if it doesnt make sense.
ill still be looking into it though. if i had a camaro wiring diagram id be golden. lol

Thanks V, i'll have to tell/show this to my car audio guy tomorrow, see if he can work something out for that.
I don't see what the big deal is about safety lol, its all about how the car looks =]

quick question, the filament thats getting power for the DRL... is it the high beam or low beam?
i have a 2011 Cruze and from what i've been reading, the high beam filament is the one that gets the low voltage to be the DRL(its a dual filament bulb, which i assume tha camaro is too) In that case, you should be able to run the HIDs as the low beam wiht out any issues since the high beams will be unplugged basically, but if using a hid/hi beam bulb you can still run it but wire the high beam off a relay setup(exact setup would still need to be figured out but very doable) ill eventually look into it on my Cruze and whatever works for me, should work for you.

Try this plug in kit. This kit will change your RS package camaro DRL's to Fog lamps. This kit is plug in only. A little expensive but I think its worth it.
