Corona hits home

I just found out yesterday, my dad who is in a nursing home in Freehold, tested positive for the corona virus. Today is his 88th birthday. Breaks my families heart that we can't even visit him anymore. My wife's uncle and his family, who live in Staten Island have also been infected with the virus. Stay safe everyone.

My best wishes to your parents Joe

and same to you 3.4grapes

My neighbor right across the street from me just passed away from COVID yesterday afternoon (about 70 years old). He was a metalworker/welder by trade for like 30+ years and had a lung transplant 10 years ago, so he was high risk. was on a ventilator for 9 days at morristown hospital and the tough decision had to be made just yesterday afternoon. he loved to go bowling and hunt in his retirement, and help out the neighborhood with projects. he took enjoyment coming over to my garage often when I was working on projects and chatting with me about his old cars and stories. he was a good guy and will be missed. crappy thing is that the funeral home will only allow 3 people total (his wife and her sister and brother) and only for a grand total of 15 minutes. no mass, no actual funeral, etc etc. He never got to get a ride in my car like he wanted to once springtime arrived; perhaps I'll do a burnout in his memory in the street between our houses.

be well everyone.

here's to a quick recovery for everyone.

My wife's step mother has alzheimer's and is in a home in princeton. Weve been trying to get an update for a week. We find out Friday that a number of people there have died from it. From a newspaper article! BS. We finally got a call Saturday with an update and the person on the phone 'knew nothing' about anything in the article. Ugh. But she said jess was showing no symptoms. I guess that's good. ****ing unbelievable.

Sorry to hear all. My gf's good friend just got over Thyroid cancer and she tested positive for corona virus last week, also in Staten Island. She is recovering though. Good luck to everyone else.

Sorry to hear about your neighbor. I work at Morristown and can honestly say that I think it's the best place to be if you have this crappy virus. That doesn't relieve the pain of losing our loved ones though.

Bonzo, 3.4 grape of wrath and Joey D... best positive thoughts to your families.
The nursing homes and assisted living facilities seem to be getting hit particularly hard, those poor folks.

I got the dreaded phone call at 4 AM this morning, my Dad passed away. Another victim of this virus. He lived a good and long life and I'm thankful for that. Love you pops.

D@m, sorry to hear about your dad. I'm not worried about myself, but I'm worried about my parents, especially my mom who's already battled cancer.

Unhappy

Sorry to hear about your Dad. We ALL think that we'll live FAR BEYOND what we hope for, but as we get older, it's something we try to put it on the back burner.
