Crazy Fast Buick Grand National & Some Gun Vids
Finally uploaded some of the last vids I had on my GoPro (And cell) - here they are...
At Cecil County Dragway last Wednesday night. This thing was insane, and sounded even better in person:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3y2ZgZz6AA
SRT-8 Jeep Grand Cherokee vs. Chevy Trailblazer SS:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnuUeNSjUhI
S&W .44 Magnum:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0xIRoMzYw4
7-30 Waters chambered Thompson Contender:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QM7zS9H9nw
That's it for now.

good vids, what were the mods to the tbss and srt jeep? for being close, stock for stock in hp, I dont get why the jeeps beat them so bad. I have a buddy who had a slightly modded tbss, and would get eaten alive by the srt jeeps

Hmm...
TBSS: 395/400 - 4552 lbs
SRT8: 420/420 - 4606 lbs
The SRT8 has a tuner, exhaust, intake. Not sure on the TBSS, though he did say he was modded and was running quicker than the other TBSS that was there.

What gearing? A short first is a big deal.

Both were stock gearing. SRT8 has 3.73's and TBSS has 4.10's.

Jeep:
1st 3.59
2nd 2.19
3rd 1.41
4th 1.00
5th 0.83
TB:
1st 3.06:1
2nd 1.63:1
3rd 1.00:1
4th 0.70:1
Those 1-2 splits more than make up for the 3.73/4.10 deal. That's what I was getting at. It is one of the reasons why swapping from an M22 4-speed to a T56 or a TH350 to a 4L60 nets a good gain in older cars.

All the transmissions were the same on the SRT8, the WA580 NAG1. Ratio is 3.59. The 4L60E on the TBSS is 3.059

Launch ratios:
SRT: 13.39
TBSS: 12.54
2nd gear:
SRT: 8.16
TBSS: 6.68
That's a big difference.
