What's your favorite track?
OK we have a new forum and I'm bored so I figured it would be a good time for a post. I've been working on collecting info for area tracks and was wondering what you thought of the tracks you have visited. FWIW here is a list of the one's I've been to (in my order of preference) and I rated their main features on a 1-5 (5 being good) scale. Maybe we can even get some track info in a sticky....

Im a big fan of atco & island...island is just too much of a drive for me at close to 70 miles each way...island is much closer & they have good prices. Track is usually prepped decent, but amount of runs varies greatly. Islands facilities are lacking a bit but you usually get a good amount of runs in which is usually all I care about...not a big fan of etown even though they are the closest of the local tracks...they are expensive for one with racing starting at $30 last I checked and most of the time I've been there i get my 3 runs & they kick you out.

mason dixon dragway in maryland ftw....cornfields on both sides of the track, no one working the gate so we pulled right in without paying and watched convertibles run with the tops down

worst track i have been to was in indiana. the year i went out to see the USGP the LS1Tech.com North vs South race was the same weekend. i think the place was US42 or something like that. track was a dump, surface was horrible, there were bulbs on both sides fo the tree that didn't work, the staff was rude as hell, and the people at the concession stand had to use a calculator to figure out how much change to give back(total was $4.50, i gave them a $5 bill and they actualy had to consult the mighty solar calculator to get the answer)
i kinda liked mason/dixon when i was there. the people were cool and the racers were all only in it for a good time. none of the drama of competitive racing around here. anyone who lost jsut cracked a beer and watched from the bleachers. lol

It will never be at the level of MG or E-town, but I do have to say that since the Dimino family took over he is putting allot of time and money into making the place soo much better then it was before! They use more VHT in a weekend then the previous owner used all year! They have improved allot of things, new/longer concrete burn out pit, new stands, facilities, electronics.
I like E-town, it is one of the nicest I've been to, but I hate racing the none F-body events because of the people that show up!
Tim, you know you're always welcome to come up, my house is always open to you!

atco would be my favorite. hooks better then anywhere else i've been. my times are faster there. it's just a boring ass ride down 70 to get there.
e-town would be great if they imposed one rule..NO IMPORTS
i mean come on. wed night is the only night of the week for T&T for unmuffled cars. give us some space and keep your import home on wedsneday night. 3-4 hrs to get 3 runs thanks to all the crap that goes there. shhhsh

Home town track - Etown 20 years of racing and many Elimination wins.
Etown- Much better traction since last years resurface
Maple Grove - Nice track, don't get to it much
Atco - Track prep much better then Etown and great since they resurfaced the track
Cecil- Want the best time, hit this track on a wednesday night will be 1/2 second quicker then Etown.
Island is ok, could use a major overhaul, but thats just me. and dont look to set best times up there.

Ah that would be Morocco, IN right? I was there with NSCA last year. Yup I'd say the low light of the tour.
E-town has everything I could want in track starting with 17 miles from home.
I am liking the reviews on Lebenon, may have to visit it sometime soon

I like E-town the best because it's close to me. Island I wasn't happy about having to drive down a rock road to get to the track and the shut down lane seemed REALLY short. I was only at atco once, but didn't run because it was so packed I got sick of waiting and just left.
I think I need to go to atco because amazingly enough everyone seems to run unbelievable times compared to what they run at e-town. SO, either the track is magical or the rumors about the track not really being a full 1/4 mile and being angled downhill are true.
LOL

Atco has a great track-far as hell for me ,I dont go there as often as I'de like.
Island has a good track and once you start to know people there ,its like one big family, alot of helpful people.
Englishtown's track is good but that place blows, not only do I make sure I always lock everything up,but last year some ********* was nice enough to hit and run my car. Not in a big rush to get back there.
I hope when my car is done I can travel a little more this year to see some other tracks.
