say goodbye to $1.2M

recently, i saw something amazing...

...a 40,000lb truck almost vertical with the nose 10'-12' in the air while the rear tires were about 2' off the ground. And the 400lb radiator assembly landed 10' from the rear corner behind the truck. The $1.2M vehicle came to rest in a 10'w X 8'L X 4'deep hole...

This happened to the gun truck in front of mine, with a supply truck between us. All 3 crew members walked away, one with minor cuts and bruises. The government spends ridiculous amounts of money on these trucks and equipment, and after seeing that and the end result, i swear its worth every penny....

i am now MRAP certified as a mechanic. those things are pretty beast. they had a cougar get hit with a 500lb bomb IED, it threw the ENGINE PACK atleast 50 feet from the truck, the truck went vertical and landed on the rear doors. the only injury was the driver because he wasnt wearing his seatbelt, but he survived nonetheless. which one was it? cougar? buffalo?

<< Bradley tech but had my hands on a few CAT I and II series.. Besides the 1.2 mil tag take into account all the equipment on board including that tiny thermal on the front going for a whopping 150k.. But, yes this was a great investment i'm glad to have been privilaged with those vehicles within my unit on deployment.

it was an MRAP maxxpro DASH.

We have a few 1151s we can roll outside the wire with anytime we like but our LT recently learned they did away with the belly armor due to weight, YET we just got them all upgraded with the frag 7 armor kit. Needless to say we use the rarely and only to the safer areas. We are working on custom made steel belly pans.
Recently we recovered an 1151... majority of the parts fit in a humvee trailer, frame was brought in on a LHS crop. We also brought in an ASV which had the main hull compromised.. that was a bad night.

i believe it was even the MRAP on the right we lost....
