My Nitrous & Compressed Air Adventure
Please believe me when I say, nothing is an easy plan for me. Decided to get both the nitrous and Nano-Nitrous compressed air bottle filled today. I was told a local paintball shop could fill the Nano bottle to the necessary 4500PSI and was open 7 days a week. Additionally, seems all North NJ nitrous retailers are out of nitrous due to a major supplier issue.
Anyway, I find a place maybe an hr down south and figure it's a good opportunity to take a drive with the wife in the Bird since I still need to put a few more hundred miles on the rear before it's broken in. The paintball shop doesn't answer it's phone well past noon so I decided to head straight down to get the nitrous and can hit the paintball shop on the way back. As I am driving down, I see a sign for cousins paintball off Rt9. I pull in just to see if maybe they can do it. I am pleased to say they filled the Nano bottle to 4500psi and I left a very happy customer. Great customer service I will say. One down one to go.
I finally get to Xtreme Machines on Rt33 and drop the nitrous bottle off. It's around lunch so we grabbed a quick bite at the subway right there. Come back, guy says he can't fill it.....? He doesn't have the right fitting for the NX valve. He asks if I have an adapter or w/e. I ask for a couple adjustable wrenches and he says he only has one. I look at him with a crooked eye while glancing at the big SERVICE sign next to him LOL. He says the mechanics are picky about lending out tools. Oh c'mon. So I try the one wrench and bear claw the filter and somehow got it loose. Sure enough that worked.
Had a nice drive home and the Bird ran really well. Like I said...nothing is easy for me but the trip was successful!
