I drive my car down and drag race at atco all the time(when it's not breaking something lol) I'm shooting for a 10 second pass, but I consider anything faster than a 10.5 fast.

I had a car that was driven to carvel with kids.. maybe Kmart Car show or Great adventure car show but didn't like that cam2 price to drive it on the streets.... ran a best of 10.97 on the street setup with drag radial..... then with a shot she woke right up.... Going all new Real Fast set up... Street Driving this one is all over...... next street car will be a G body.... but just wanted some feedback heere...... and yes... that number on motor was a wicked street setup.. not real fun.. but a streeter none the less. just expensive for that good gas.

My T/A is strictly a DD, no mods. I'm hoping to get my Camaro, its a dedicated race car, finished this summer in between semesters, my father and I are anticipating high 10s. We're building a serious dedicated track car out of his '57 and shootin for low 9s. I'm new to the sport, but it runs in the family haha.
What's fast?
Street: I think a reliable DD car that is well mannered and can pull 12s (high or low) is fast for a street ride. Any of those cars running 9s on streets w/ nothin but tubbed body, drivetrain and drivers seat aren't street cars to me they're street legal race cars lol.
Strip: Anything under 10.99 gets my nod. Again I always think fast is relative, I expect a Vette to outrun a Civic Si you know? But in general terms, numbers are always impressive. And not to advocate rice, because I think rice is different from seriously racing sport compacts not faygo clear lights and neons, if I see one of those nasty turbo CRXs at the strip running 11s I'll admit I'm pretty damn impressed.
Just my .02

my car is a big project, but it is a fast streeter project. i can't afford a truck and trailer plus avng a cool car, so i will stick to streeters. i am not too worried about all the creature comfort stuff so it isn't too hard to go fast

Low 12's maybe 11 second pass on a perfect day with new set up. Street, race and Road course set up.
Set up to do everything.

the best street comb we ever built in the shop for a street racer was a boe ty block 3 5/8 stroke 4.155 bore flat piston track ones ( brodix ) flat tappet 536 554 on a 106 center line 750 DP worked to 925 on a victor JR 700 r4 with 410s in a 12 bolt in a 69 camaro on pump gas it ran with 9 inch tires on stock style spring high 10s 125 plus in the quarter in good air -- jz

i try and keep my cars either street or strip only, it gets too expensive to put a street car on the track, or built strip car that can hit the street. i have a 79 camaro that hit 12s once, sbc, nothing spectacular done to it, an all stock 02 z28.
my go-fast car is a rear engine dragster, best of 7.80 @ 171 at atco. ran 7.86 this weekend at island, so im hoping that best might improve this coming weekend at atco with some good air.

Well my car has evolved into a semi trailer queen. I only race at the track. It's legal and I will drive it to local events but it's very poor as far as fuel economy for the really long hauls, although it still has all the power accessories and AC.
I expect to see 11's on street tires, not sure if slicks will give me enough to get into the 10s. Probably won't happen until I step up to a bigger SC before 10s become a reality?
I consider 8's fast, but I like index and bracket racing so I can respect a slower car that does well because of the driver's ability to dial in his car and make the right changes! But I do hate getting beat by old caddies and pick-ups with 17.25 dial in! Those that frequent E-town know what I'm talking about!

I hope to obtain high 12's on my car and I'll be happy.
But these days I tend to think anything that runs sub 13.5 is fast for an almost daily driven street car.

Mine is a DD...I'm only shooting for mid 11's which to me is fast for a street car. Hell, low 12's for a DD is pretty damn respectable.
For a track only car, anything 11.40's and below isn't a bad ride

for a trailered track car, i think 10.00 and better is respectable, for a street car, 11.50.
