dash pad interchangeability

(Not f body related)

I have been searching for a dash pad for my 83 Chevy Caprice for sometime now and I have come up dry, so started looking for others 80s dashes from other full size GM cars that might work.

That being said, will the 80s Cadillac Fleetwood\Brougham dash fit? It looks like it will from pictures but wondering if anyone actually knew? Specifics like if the bolt holes are the same, everything lines up etc..

The Fleetwood dashes are plentiful and cheap on eBay, but there is only one Caprice dash, and its a grand (psycho must have priced it)

Good suggestion Paul... I saw this and was considering it. Then I emailed the seller to ask about if the speaker grille plates come off like OEM and they said no. Its all one piece, grille's aren't removable.

Not the end of the world, I know, but like the idea of keeping it on the OEM side of things, even if I end up going with a Fleetwood dash pad. Maybe I'll change my mind to use it if I get frustrated enough haha

Anyone else with knowledge who can chime in on this thread?

Also related to the dash pad search.. Will a general auto body shop paint/color match dashes? Or do u need to go to an interior shop specifically? I'm not too dialed into interior restoration so looking for some ideas\help.

That being said, if anyone knows of a specific shop for
Painting a dash pad, please let me know. Thanks

My local body shop can dye vinyl and plastics so I don't see why not. Its the same as painting but there is another additive they put in. Duplicolor makes rattle can stuff too but probably not in your color.
