classified forum... self delete/time out possible?

I don't know if this is possible, but I assume it is...

Can the classified forum be changed so that threads, sale or wanted, basically becom deleted automatically after a specified period of time?

Like after 15-18 months with no replies or "bumps", the thread disappears.

It would prevent bringing back old threads and if the seller is motivated, a yearly bump isn't too much to ask. It would also help people searching for stuff in that they don't come across threads of parts/cars long gone and just never updated.

When the forum was a few years old it was no big deal. but now that's approaching the decade mark stuff has begun to pile up.

Anyone else agree ?

Great idea, a wrangler forum I am on sends them to the archive after a set amount of time. I like the way you described it to work.

Not only that, if a item sells and no one replies about it, then the thread just goes dormant.

Will this put an end to wanted ads being bumped three years later by people parting out cars??
