My 68 Convertible Project
Going to start posting pictures and updates here too as I have a project thread going on elsewhere...
This is the car coming home from it's former location in a barn where it resided for quite some time...

On the note of fellow NJ Camaro guys... if anyone needs help out in the Warren County area with their project I'm up for it. I've got a lot of space, a lot of 2'nd gen parts, several garages, a 30x40 sandblast cabinet, a portable sandblaster, paint equipment, engine crane, tools, a good work truck for picking up parts (installing a bed crane in the truck now for moving engines and frames and other heavy stuff) plus I've got access to a real good industrial sandblast place that I take parts to each month (double up and save money) anyone need help with their project, hit me up. I'm close to Island Dragway so if you are planning a weekend trip there I'm about a mile away.

Oh, too add to that by space I mean I have 11 acres so if you have that great parts car you want to pickup and can't put it at your place it can come here... especially if we can share parts... I've sectioned out and cut up whole cars here and have a scrap dealer that will take the leftovers (no questionable stuff of course, I only part out titled cars)

Hoping mine winds up somewhat non-twitchy... I've got all the stiffeners and cross-braces in place, all four cocktail shakers to go back in and reconditionining the entire suspension all the way around

No significant updates tonight... working on cleaning up the garage where we are assembling the car and getting ready to setup for the metalwork on the floors. Time to shift gears a bit

Major accomplishment tonight... figured out how to get the damn thrust washer (that fell out during the rear restoration) back in...
The posi unit was in good shape and I replaced the outer axle bearings and seals, really did not want to pull the carrier, everything checked out for lash and play before I tore into it... was just about to put the c-clips back in after putting in the replacement axles and "clink" the washer fell out. Ironically there are a lot of people who reported online that this can happen but not many discussing how to get them back in other than voodoo and radical disassembly... turns out if you position things just right (and approach from the right side) they drop right back in. Whew

Cause it's what the car came with? It's 100% number matching and original. Only change I'm making is three leaf swap outs for the monoleafs and front discs, this for safety. Yes, I'm putting the two barrel rochester back on too
