92 bird

Glad to be back on here again. Was pretty busy this summer getting rid of my 305 and upgrading to something better. I ended up putting in an lq4 and 4l60e.

I owe a big thanks to EFX tuning for tuning the car and getting it road worthy.

Nice build! I like that you kept the car mostly stock looking.

Hope you all had a good christmas and new year. spent some time working up on the great lakes. I did happen to see a thirdgen in the sub zero temps while i was there. ( average temp over two months was 0).

I got my sfc installed on my car and things have stiffened up significantly. I still have a few more things to do but things are coming along. Ive been looking at both 8.8 and 9in rears to be added. In the configuration I want there is only a $200 price difference so i am currently undecided.

Having a low voltage issue. I have an autolite underdrive kit on my car. It came with the parts of a parts car. Im gonna install a overdrive pulley on the alternator and see if it solves my issue

Yikes that is low voltage. I would verify the batt and alternator output before anything

Yeah in that case I would suspect the pulley size to be the culprit. Other than that how's she been running

so far she has been running excellent. I just got home today so the car has been sitting for a month. Gonna take it down to ziggys transmission to get it looked at for a possible rebuild. when i bought the trans it has 58k on it from the second owner of a 98 TA. he said he wasnt sure if the trans was modded. WOT 1-2 shift feels like it will break my neck. its a hard shift. kinda feels like something is off. other than that no issues lol

This morning on a cold start I put a meter on the battery. 14.48V I drove around all day and let the car get to normal operating temp and put the meter on it again while it idled. 12.5V

Well the battery reads good. So at idle the alternator isn't putting out a whole lot. Could be the pulley size. Need to see what the alternator is putting out. But your not drawing down the battery so that's a good thing

The over drive pulley is on but i wasnt able to go for a drive with the pending snow. Cold start though was 14.47v and after letting it sit and warm up it only dropped to 14.1v. Im using 76.3in belt and it runs fine but for safe measure I may drop to a smaller size belt cause based on the tick marks the tensioner is close to full extension. When the weather clears Ill take better readings.
