Interior in shambles

Now I have alot of work ahead of me with the interior of my 88 IROC. What do you guys suggested I do, because i need a new dash, gauges, steering wheel, carpet, front seats, trimming, you get the point . I am on a limited budget so custom stuff is out of the question right now but not out of mind in the future. First off is the speedometer, I have inspection in Nov and the speedometer needle fell off and the head is busted. Does anyone in Northern NJ have like good places to go for that?

First off,

Next, if your on a limited budget, might I suggest ebay. I bought a whole new gray interior trim for my old 86 TA sometime last year (seller happens to be a member here too) for $75, thats just all the gray plastics and after some time and patience I cleaned all the pieces up and it really looked brand new. As far as the speedometer is concerned, again try ebay and look for one in the range of your mileage, that seems to be the cheapest route to go.

Theres also a classifieds section here, post up what you need and Im sure someone has what your looking for (cough SmokingSS ) Good luck

the headliner, side fins and visors are mostly going to be done by my sister. She like an expert sower and is going to done it all for me.

unfortunately, i would clean it all up but most of the pieces are cracked. Some real unprofessional people put in an alarm system and crack the dash, crack the top of the dash, center console. yea it is a total mess. my grandfather got the money from them but never fixed it and left the interior as is. So it is like alot of parts.

i will keep looking here and on ebay.

If you post up want ads here, I'm sure you will find pretty much everything you need. Which speedometer is it that you need (what MPH)? How many miles are on your car?

my sister went to FIT for fashion and knows everything about fabrics. she has done a few seat for her car and they turned out real nice. She has the whole professional sewing machine that i bought her for her b-day a few ago and does alot with it.

headliner and sail panels are easy to cover with fabric, but they must be cleaned completely of the old foam/glue/fabric. dirty panels are the main reason why a newly installed headliner will start to sag after only a short period of time has passed.
