i think the vette may have an actual frame...sure looks that way when you see a cutaway of one.

A Corvette is in fact a unibody now I believe. However they have a full frame rail underneath versus two halves like the F-body platform. Earlier style Corvettes up until I believe the C4 had a full frame that the body could be removed from. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

the corvette is a y-body, and the definition of frame vs unibody can sorta get tricky depending on personal opinions... in a 97+ vette(at least to '04) you can lift the body off the rolling "chassis" The torque tube setup is actually like a back bone for the drivetrain. all the parts motor trans rear suspension are worked together in a such a way that they all support each other. but techincally its a unibody though, lol. 82 and older were full frame cars.

Hello guys and gals!
First of all, I want to say hi since this is my first post. I'm not new to the club, but I just got my account approved for the website.
Only two vehicles are F-body's: the Camaro and Firebird, and I'll bet if you go look at the fourth letter in your VIN, it will be an "F". A Y-body, which is a Corvette or the Cadillac XLR, incorporates a rear-mounted transaxle instead of a transmission mounted directly to the engine. Power is transferred to the transaxle via a torque tube.
