2009 East Coast F-Body Nationals General Info
The 2009 East Coast F-body Nationals will be held at Island Dragway in Great Meadows, NJ on Sunday, August 9th. You don't have to wait around for the main even to get out to the track though, we will be kicking the weekend off with the traditional F-body vs. Mustang action on during Island Dragway's Friday Street Night on August 7th.
The 2009 East Coast Nats are set to feature four exciting drag racing classes, two index and two traditional brackets, as well as the great car show that we have all come to expect from the NJFBOA's Anniversary celebration.
While the action on the track and show field will be all about GM's pony car platform, everyone is welcome. As with all of our great NJFBOA events it is open to all owners, friends, and fans of the F-body platform.

Good idea with the index classes. I guess I will be running in the 10.0 index. That is if the car ever gets finished over at Kasper's. Got some trick new front end parts going on the car taking out some weight. Dumb thing better be together by then or i might be in jail for it not being done.

I might try to make it. It sounds like a good time. I just don't like the idea of putting mufflers on the bird to run the street class. Oh well, it might sound good.

You can bring it to the track, sure. But you can't show it or race it in our classes.

I won't be able to make it this year. I have commintments at another track for that weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Perhaps I can bring up the Mustang on Friday night. I spent the past weekend setting up the 14 second pony to shallow stage. He's ready to stomp some F-body's.

It's bracket racing. Not about how fast. Cut a light then run it on the dial-in.

I'll be foot breaking my daily driver on DOT (BF Goodrich Drag Radials) tires with the factory stock mufflers. I don't care if the F-bodies use open headers, slicks, and electronics. They will need it. Pony Up !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There will be time shot lanes Sunday and Friday is Island's regular, muffled street night. So feel free to come out and watch, take a few passes, and vote for the car show.

I will probably be there some nights to watch, and I will try to get the '84 TA to the Nationals in August. Its not in the best shape but I will bring it into the show as a "survivor", because it is one. All original except for the tow bar in the back and that L69/LG4 hybrid motor swap. The motor was free. I still have the original numbers matching block for future rebuild.
