ANYONE KNOW OF ANY GOOD LOOKING AUTOMATIC SHIFTERS THAT I COULD PUT IN MY 93Z? LOOKING TO UPGRADE TO A MANUAL VALVE BODY

Just wondering whas done to the car that your going with a manual valve body. Is it strictly a track car??

looks should be last on your list when choosing a shifter
if you want looks then leave the stock one in there..

i have a hurst quarter stick and its awesome, but its also in an 80, not a 93 and im not sure if they make it for the 4l60e.....

if you program your computer to shift at the perfect RPM it will be all more efficient then you shifting it manually, people just put in shifters because they wanna look cool

93Z = no electronically controlled transmission.

the lock up is still a function of the computer, if you take away the manual lever position sensor it will be affected..

Unless the shifter chosen has provisions for a factory style gear selector switch, ie it tells the computer what gear you are in...I would rethink putting a shifter in the car. I speak from personal experience with a hydaulic trans (700r4), not only does TC lockup get affected (as Josh stated), but cold start, IAC perameters, and a lot of other things will be affected and tuning around it can be a huge pain in the ass...all from a shifter. However, if someone makes a real bolt-in product using factory electronics, that would be the shifter to choose.
